Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani-Peruvian Muay thai fighter, mixed martial artist who currently competing with the UFC flyweight division. She is the elder sister of her fellow UFC fighter and former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko began her fight sporting career as an Muay Thai boxer. She debuted in the IFMA World Championship Tournament 2003 Shevchenko won the tournament and beat Suzane Miller in the finals via the unanimous vote. Antonina continued her career by taking home bronze and silver medals in 2007 and 2008 respectively, as well as a Gold medal in the year 2011, and the year-end 2016 IFMA amateur Muay Thai world champion. Antonia started her professional career in 2003. She was the winner of the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship in 2012, the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship in 2016, and also the WMC as well as the Phoenix FC World Championships in 2016. Antonina's last fight was against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas at Phoenix Fighting Championship. The victory was a unanimous one. Antonina Schevchenko began the professional phase of her MMA professional career back in the year 2002 after an impressive win against Anara Baanova in the KFK Championships of Kyrgystan. She went 3-0, after winning the second-round TKO. Her next two fights were won at WXF: X-Impact World Championships in 2003. Shevchenko had a brief break from MMA and devoted her time to boxing. Shevchenko made her comeback in 2017 when she fought Anissa Diddaoui. Shevchenko was able to defeat Anissa in a unanimous decision and defeated Valerie Domergue on Phoenix FC 4 in 2017. She joined Dana White Contender Series 2018 after leaving the promotion. Shevchenko defeated Jaimelene Nievera during Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11 Antonina showed off her power of striking by tying Nievera using knees. After this win, Antonina received a UFC contract. Antonina Shevchenko made her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Strikes Finale in the fight against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko was defeated by Roxanne modafferi in a split decision, after winning her first bout. Antonina bounced off the loss and fought Lucie Prudilova's battle at UFC on ESPN Covingtonvs. Lawler by submitting a rear naked choke submission. It was the best fight of the night for the fight. Shevchenko was victorious in her initial three bouts, but lost the fights to Katlyn Cahookagian, Andrea Lee and Ariane Lipski. Antonina has recently been knocked down by a TKO in the second round, losing to Casey O'Neill, at UFC Fight Night Santos Vs. Walker.
